Nominated senator Millicent Omanga has finally spoken about the girl who’s photos went viral on social media after she went on busy streets of Nairobi to beg for school fees.
Via her social media account, the hustler Nation allied leader started by expressing her disappointments with the ministry of education that said no child should be send home due to fees arrears.
“This is very heart breaking! As a mother it has brought me down to my knees. I am left wondering is it just rhetoric talk when Ministry of Education says no student should be chased away from school because of school fees?” said Omanga.
The outspoken leader slammed the government and the leaders from the jurisdiction that the girl comes from. she said that Ksh29,177 can easily be sorted with NGAAF, CDF or even County bursary.
“A fee balance of 29,177 can easily be sorted with NGAAF, CDF or even County bursary,” she said.
The incoming Nairobi women representative finally said that she will help the girl go back to school by paying the full fees and even assisting her with some shopping.
“I AM LOOKING FOR THIS GIRL. KINDLY SHARE HER PARENTS CONTACT IF YOU HAVE IT OR BRING HER TO MY OFFICE AT KICC. I AM GOING TO PAY FOR HER SCHOOL FEES, BUY HER SHOES AND GIVE GENERAL SUPPORT,” she added. More
