A middle age man was today monday 13th September 2021, arraigned in court for what it said he stole a billboard.Gordon Onyango committed the crime contrary to section 268(1) if the penalty code.
The accused appeared before the kisumu’s chief magistrate Peter Gesora for plea taking.
According to the court statement, Onyango stole one of the canvas billboard valued at ksh60,000 the property of look media company on 10th September at Argwings Kodhek estate in Nyalenda area within Kisumu County.
In alternative charges, Onyango was found guilty of handling stolen property contrary to section 322(1) of the penal code.
“That in the course of stealing, you retained one canvas billboard,” read part of the charge sheet.
He however pleaded not guilty to all charges pressed against him and was released on a bond of ksh30,000, after prosecutor sylvester Thuo who was handling the matter had no objection on his release.
The accused was arrested on 10th September and was remanded at kisumu Central police station. The case will be mentioned on September 29 and heard on October 13.
