Deputy president William Ruto was missing in action at the funeral service of his friend bishop Godfrey Migwi of the house of hope, as he was being laid to rest at his rural home.
Migwi, who was a strong believer of deputy’s politics and a household name was laid to rest at his rural home in Nyeri and was mourned as a courageous religious leader in the society.
DP Ruto, who was on two-days political tour in turkana, had a week ago mourned bishop Migwi as a mentor and a friend who’s sermons will forever be remembered, praying for the deceased family to be strong during the trying times.
“Bishop Godfrey Migwi was a bold, vocal and powerful spiritual leader with a great sense of humour. He was a mentor and a friend with firm pastoral faith that he infused to many of us. We will miss his topical and nourishing sermons,” Ruto eulogy read.
Bishop Migwi of house of hope church , kayole, past on last week after a short period of illness, according to his family the bishop succumbed to high blood pressure complication.
Migwi was vocal in Mt. Kenya region and will be remembered for his powerful sermons during DP Ruto’s visit to the area.
