President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his message of condolences to the family and friends of the late business man Joseph Kibe who passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Joseph Kibe known to many as “Joe” was a career civil servant who served in many roles within government, raising through the ranks to the position of permanent secretary general before successfully transitioning to the business world in his retirement.
“It’s unfortunate the death has robbed us one of our country’s most distinguished and highly polished professional whose selfless service and sacrifice helped to lay foundation on the progress we’re enjoying today.
“Having started out as a lowly placed public servant and rising through the ranks of the civil service to become Permanent Secretary before successfully transitioning into business, Mzee Kibe was a role model and mentor to many people,” the President eulogised.
“Mzee Kibe was a wise and likeable gentleman who was always willing and ready to extend a hand of help whenever called upon.
“After his retirement from the public service and transitioning into the business world where he excelled, Mr Kibe volunteered his service on boards of several public institutions besides leading many philanthropic engagements,” he said.
The Head of State prayed to God to give the family of Mr Kibe the fortitude and strength they require at this difficult period of mourning their beloved family patriarch. More
